Which one of the two attorneys do you think would have won the case, had Elizabeth not disappeared? What swayed your opinion?

Shannon and Abe appear to be skillful and highly ethical attorneys. In order to do their jobs, they have no choice but to believe their witnesses as they build their cases. Do either of them doubt any of the information they've been given? What tactics do each of them use to influence the jury? Which one of them do you think would have won the case, had Elizabeth not disappeared? What swayed your opinion?

I think Shannon would have won the case. She seemed very driven and determined to a fault that she wasn't trying to understand Elizabeth during the trial.

Shannon believed in her client and would have won the case. She was prepared to defend Elizabeth no matter how bizarre her client acted in the courtroom and went to great lengths to prepare for all eventualities as they unfolded in the courtroom and behind the scenes.

I think that Shannon was the stronger and more determined attorney and so probably would have won. There were so many surprising twists in this book that I find myself typing my answer without 100% conviction.
