How do you believe the Reich's propaganda about self-sacrifice smooths the way for Lebensborn homes to function?

Citizens and the women in the story were told they were sacrificing for the good of the county. Even being a prostitute for, and being impregnated by, the German commanders was considered a positive action for Germany. Everything was framed as making their country and their lives better. Propaganda is very persuasive.

The Nazis were famous for their propaganda, and sadly it worked. Of course citizens seeing all this great news and amazing future would be happy and willing to take part in helping make the nation great again. I'm sure the bright, beautiful posters and the promise of a wonderful life were quite appealing.

The power of propaganda is compelling especially if one is swayed by posters, motherhood awards for the largest families and other status producing manipulations to "do one's part". Those less secure in their own convictions, like Hilde, were especially vulnerable.

The idea of self-sacrifice led young women to believe they were contributing to the war effort even if they couldn't contribute by fighting. The propaganda they saw only strengthened their resolve when it came to having babies that would be put up for adoption by Aryan couples.

Propaganda is extremely successful, especially as people have been prepped to believe the message. Propaganda is insidious in that it works from the inside and then spreads. Look at fake news today! Sadly, too many people believe things they hear or read on social media and don't take the time to evaluate.

I totally agree with the many that state propaganda works and it worked extremely well in Germany during those years. So many people believed what they were doing was for the good of their country that they were willing to do almost anything. And that included bearing children for other people to raise, selling themselves for the benefit of the Third Reich. It was also beneficial to themselves, which added to the fantasy of doing everything for the good of their country.
