Did your reading of the Prologue change after you finished reading the book, and if so, how?

RE: Did your reading of the Prologue change after you finished reading the book?

The prologue was just that--a rather sad foreshadowing entrance to the story. Reading it after finishing the book, the sadness is more profound. I am reminded of the characters as children; I am reminded of the love they had for each other; and I am reminded of what happened to each of them before the moment described in the prologue.

The Prologue told the ending but you did not know that until nearly the end. On re-reading it after reading the book I was impressed at how prophetic it was and that the little question in my mind that existed after the first reading had been answered and it made sense. The author made all of her characters very real, flaws and all and the ambiguousness of the prologue is another tribute to her skills.

The prologue was, of course, a few paragraphs of what the epilogue finished for the reader. For some reason I knew this was so while reading the prologue and wasn't surprised at all when the book was finished and Yasodhara and Shiva were together again.

The prologue was appreciated MORE after the book was finished. Powerful to start with but more powerful later.
