The lullaby that Lakshmi uses to test whether Radha is really her sister was composed by their father. If you were to create such a lullaby, what familial clues would you include to identify members of your circle?

I would include clues related to familial nicknames, details about various geographical places I’ve lived, and a bit of oral history passed down from the last century.

I love that melanieb! I think including family history in a lullaby is what makes it more personalized and special. Including nicknames is a great way to identify loved ones in a fun, lighthearted way.

If I were to create a family lullaby i would intertwine times of being very poor and doing without food on my mother's side of the family and the over abundance of everything that my father's side of the family enjoyed. It would be a melody soft with occasional gaps of chords unsung...because there is no known sound for being poor and looking in the window to see what others have plenty of.
