Susan Cain calls for a Quiet Revolution. Would you like to see this kind of a movement take place, and if so, what is the #1 change you'd like to see happen?

Personally, I would like this book to be required reading for all managers. I was so pleased when the director at my company told me she'd read it - and considers herself an introvert, which somewhat surprised me and somewhat didn't - and found much she could identify with. I wish all managers could appreciate the unique skills introverts bring to a business environment.

I would love to experience people really listening to others rather than merely using that time to think about what they plan to say next. A perfect example are the talking heads on cable news shows. Nobody listens. Everybody talks, usually over another person. It becomes just noise instead of a thoughtful conversation.

I would love to see a listening skills workshop required of all managers. I'd also like to see more enforcement of lowering noise pollution in neighborhoods. Remove TVs from restaurants and lower the music so I don't have to raise my voice to be heard by the person across the table from me. Enforce "no cell phones" in restaurants, doctors' offices, etc. Okay, there's more than a #1. But all this would make the world such a nicer place for us introverts.

That we would no longer be viewed as flawed because we are not talking. If everyone is talking then who will listen?
