I found myself asking these questions... this book made be so uncomfortable, but I think it is a story worth telling! I'm a relatively new foster mom (we've only had one placement, and it is headed toward adoption) but with the opioid epidemic raging, more and more children are facing traumatic upbringings like Wavy and will challenge society's norms as they grown up in scary circumstances. I found myself asking these questions... what does her future hold? How will she raise her children? Will she finish college and make a life for herself? Just curious to see others' answers.
