What do you think Helen meant when she said "...perhaps the bareness and wrongness of the world was an illusion; that things might still be real, and right, and beautiful, even if I could not see them..."?

I don't remember that particular quote; but after she visited the psychiatrist or therapist, she sensed a clearer understanding of the world. Before her grief consumed and blinded her to anything not connected to the training of Mabel.

I don't remember the particular quote either, but I think it expresses some hope that Helen herself will eventually see the beautiful and "right" things in the world.
