About this book

Book Summary

American audiences have fallen in love with Jojo Moyes. Ever since she debuted Stateside she has captivated readers and reviewers alike, and hit the New York Times bestseller list with the word-of-mouth sensation Me Before You. Now, with One Plus One, she's written another contemporary opposites-attract love story.

Suppose your life sucks. A lot. Your husband has done a vanishing act, your teenage stepson is being bullied, and your math whiz daughter has a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that you can't afford to pay for. That's Jess's life in a nutshell until an unexpected knight in shining armor offers to rescue them. Only Jess's knight turns out to be Geeky Ed, the obnoxious tech millionaire whose vacation home she happens to clean. But Ed has big problems of his own, and driving the dysfunctional family to the Math Olympiad feels like his first unselfish act in ages... maybe ever.

One Plus One is Jojo Moyes at her astounding best. You'll laugh, you'll weep, and when you flip the last page, you'll want to start all over again.

Media Reviews

"Starred Review. Bravo to Moyes for delivering toothsome characters in a story readers will truly care about. Is that Hollywood calling?" - Booklist

"Starred Review. With humor, and insight, and an amazing ability to see how personal hitting rock bottom can become, she has written an emotional, rich, and satisfying novel. Highly recommended." - Library Journal

"[A] quirky tale of lopsided families finding the courage to love... It's exactly that quality that makes this offbeat journey so satisfying, and Moyes's irrepressible flaws-and-all characters so memorable." - Publishers Weekly

"Moyes has mastered the art of likable, not terribly memorable, but far from simple-minded storytelling." - Kirkus

A story and a family you will love!
This was the first book by this author that I had ever read, and I loved it so much that I'm working my way through her other books now. The story of how quirky mom Jess manages to help her two children Tanzie and Nick realize their dreams in spite of their difficult life is funny, sad, exciting, and inspiring all at once. I loved Jess with her bravery and insistence on trusting her heart in every situation. I found the theme of this book - whom do we trust, and how much and for how long - to make me think more deeply about my own life and the people in it. I've recommended this book to my neighborhood book club as our choice to read in September.

Dont miss this One
Anyone who read JoJo Moyes previous books knows that she can tell a story...but this time she outdoes herself. She pulls you into each character. you feel their hurt..you feel their struggles...you feel the love..and you want each and every one of them to succeed. This is the story of a single mother caught in a dysfunctional family and her struggle to make their world right. So much I can say about how this book kept me reading long into the night...but why not just tell you to go out and read it...it wont take long before you understand why I am so hooked on JoJo Moyes.
