This is a wonderful story of the strength of family and life. Members of my family grew up in the depression and as I read this book, I kept thinking about the stories of struggle and hardship they went through to survive; but also, of how they would stick together in a crisis. Being raised in and living in Virginia all my life, I know of the way of life in the mountains in the southwestern area. This book is ready for a "Hallmark" movie. Encouraging my daughter to read it!
