This book was amazing. I have read several of Anita Shreve's novels and I am definately addicted! These stories make love seem just within reach as you watch her characters go through the drama. The characters seem to be real and they always leave you wanting for more! I would recommend this book to everyone!

I love this book. honestly, i think about it every day. i had gone to my sisters one day and she told me to read it. i didnt, until about 2-3 months later. by the time i got into it, i remember the last time i talked to my sister.i told her i loved it. She died about a two weeks later.she loved to read, and i took her advice. Her car accident made me not want to read it anymore because i couldnt tell her how /what i thought of it. now, i realize how precious things are. i could read this book over and over again. i just love it. not so much because of jen, but because i loved it. i could be olympia, anyone with that passion could. . Anita is a great writer. i wish i could tell her that. for both my sister and me. i read other books of anitas, but by far, this is the all time best. if anyone has a contact to her, please, let me know, i just want to thank her. i love it.... myangeljenlynne@aol.com

This was the first book I read by Anita Shreve, and I've been addicted ever since! Her writing style was a refreshing change from anything I'd read in a long while, it reminded me of classics like Wuthering Heights. It was one of those books that I just couldn't put down, and although there was romance it was by no means slushy. Definitely a book I'd recommend wholeheartedly, it is back on my bookshelf looking slightly battered as it has done the circuit of my friends...and once you've read this one - read all of the others
Fearless, gripping, at once darkly funny and tender, spanning three continents and numerous lives, Americanah is a richly told story set in today's globalized world.
The story of an American family, middle class in middle America, ordinary in every way but one. But that exception is the beating heart of this extraordinary novel.
The best book I've read in a very long time and the first ever Bo Caldwell novel for me. I'd never before read anything about missionaries to China,...
