Just OK for me
Yes Aron Rolston overcame incredible odds, cutting off his own arm to save his life. However his writing is simplistic and at times a little dry. It took me almost 3 weeks to finish the book. |

good read, but....
I loved the book but I found some of the language offensive. It seemed that you could read every other chapter and not miss any of the story as so many other details were added. I enjoyed the book though and was impressed by the author's inteligence. |

too detailed
Between a Rock and a Hard Place is a wonderful story about life and how the choices we make affect it. But, the book went aside from the main story too much. There were so many details that didn't matter, that a great story was almost boring. |

Needed better editing to reduce the number of pages. Too many details detract from the story. It almost seems as if gear vendors paid for product endorsements throughout the book. A fantastic story about survival, that almost got lost in the telling. |

even dumb things happen to smart, skilled adventurers and ralston fortunately lived to tell a terrific story about exactly that ! |
