I was so engaged by this book. I had trouble putting it down. It was to the point that it was demonstrably affecting my mood and my home life.
Then it ended. Abruptly.
Really that is what you were trying to tell us Ms. Picoult. That is how life is? I understand. I really do but I cant help but feel a little angry that I invested to much of myself in a character that was Spoiler Alert killed at the end. Really what is she trying to say? Fate controls us, is that it?
It was a good emotional, cathartic read and made me want to hug my kid....alot. But I cant quite put my finger on why it ended that way....some one please what is she trying to say?

At the end of this book I was crying, I started reading Jodi's books not too long ago, I started with the pack which I loved, then went onto My Sister's Keeper and loved this book, it's very powerful and has to do with everyday things that happen in life. The next book I'm planning on reading which I just bought is Nineteen Minutes. I cant wait!

As a High Schooler I have gotten into a lot of books before, but My Sister's Keeper is one of the first that I can remember that has actually brought me to tears. The book was amazing in every aspect.

I love Jodi Picoult as an author and this is, so far, my favorite book by her. The book grabs you in and won't let go. The ending is amazing, I had to reread over and over. READ THIS BOOK! I am not kidding, my mother always guesses the endings of this type of book and hates to read them but she absolutely had neither experience with this book. Fantastically written. I would give it even higher than a five if I could!

by Kat Did any of you actually READ this book?
This book infuriated me to the point where burning it once was not enough. It was legally and medically inaccurate. The ending was basically having the hand of God come in and take over. This book was tiring to read through. I do not enjoy reading soap operas. This author obviously does not have a sister.

I am not a reader every time I pick up a book and start one I don't finish it. However this book was always in my hands. I couldn't wait to get home from work and grab my book to read. It was a very great story and I loved how it went from character to character.
Fearless, gripping, at once darkly funny and tender, spanning three continents and numerous lives, Americanah is a richly told story set in today's globalized world.
The story of an American family, middle class in middle America, ordinary in every way but one. But that exception is the beating heart of this extraordinary novel.
First time novelist Vaddey Ratner captured my heart and senses in this novel based on her childhood in Cambodia. Her story transcends any news story...
