by Judith P. (rosebud, missouri) A study of the human dilemma.
This is not only a fascinating crime thriller, but a study of how we deal with the complexities of the state of our lives. How our character is shown in each roll we all play in others lives and our own. The novel start slow and build to a satisfying end. Villains and heroes all reach an appropriate reward.

Unlike the Stieg Larsson trilogy, I could not get into the story. It seemed very disjointed--took time to determine who was discussing whom. There was too much focus on the characters "weird" feelings. Did not hold my interest.

I found the book to be too long and frequently boring. Ewert Grens became irritating, coupled with an unnecessary diversion. It did remind me of the corruption that happens within many Government Agencies. People are disposable. Hard to reconcile Piet Hoffman possibly giving up his life and disrupting, possibly losing, his beloved family for undisclosed compensation.

I enjoyed reading Three Seconds by Roslund and Hellstrom. The novel details the story of a drug informant, Piet Hoffman, whose life goes terribly wrong while trying to infiltrate the drug trade. The police abandon Hoffman and he is left to save himself.

Stranger than fiction, blending tragedy and farce, How to Create the Perfect Wife is an engrossing tale of the radicalism, and deep contradictions, at the heart of the Enlightenment.
Although heavy on the scientific details, which slowed down the story for me (OK, I admit, I was one of those liberal arts majors who skipped out on...
