David Klein's novel drives home the point that bad things often happen to good people. I enjoyed reading this book. My gold standard is simple; character plus conflict equals drama, and drama is the indispensable component for good fiction. Klein's book abounds with believable characters with more than enough conflict to go around melded into a seamless plot-line that strikes at the myth of quiet, peaceful, and boring suburbia. David Klein represents a fresh new voice in the world of fiction, and I look forward to his second novel.

The premise of this one grabbed me from the start. Because it is all about the decisions people make. The initial thought is that this is a moral tale. I liked each character having a story of their own.
The only reason I didn't give it 5 is because I found it predictable

Stash, by David Klein, stepped into the life of an every day suburban mom who one day decided to get a little weed from an old friend...harmless enough...so she thought.
This book is an example of how one careless decision can have ripple effects that reach far beyond the intended scope. In Gwen's case, it seems one bad decision leads to another digging her deeper and deeper into an a mess of personal and legal battles.
This is a well written, fast paced book that keeps you turning the pages. It reminds us that you never know what dirty little secrets are kept behind doors - no matter how nicely decorated.
Gwen got a little more than a little case of paranoia with her actions...she got a dose of reality as well. The question remaining is, will she learn her lesson?

Stash by David Klein in neither a bad book nor an excellent book. The novel is ambitious, has some interesting plot perspectives but what failed the book for me was that I did not come to have strong feelings for any one of the characters and I wanted to. I like to care about the people who inhabit novels and this just didn't happen for me. In the end, a little too much tell - not enough show - for this reader.

This book had a fun premise for a plot, but I found the ending extremely weak. I was also distracted by so much detail - or detail that seemed superfluous, like describing the kind of cupcakes on page one. This much unnecessary detail detracted from the story and I did not like the overuse of some words, like the cliche term of endearment "sweetie".

In a mere moment everything that is important in the lives of the Raine's family almost goes up in smoke... marijuana smoke that is....

Author David Klein has written a story of middle class life in an idealistic suburb !!! I think NOT!!!!

This read packs a punch from the beginning to the very end ! Just when you think you have it figured out you haven't !!!

So tighten your seat belt on this rollercoaster, and get ready for a fast paced read !

A skillfully written novel that had me turning the pages to find out what would happen to a set of characters I really enjoyed reading about.

Each of the major characters has their own compelling story. The characters are realistic and multi-faceted. I found myself contemplating their actions and personalities and liked that they couldn't simply be classified as good or bad people.

Klein's use of language is part of what makes the novel such a pleasure to read. His strong dialogue and detailed descriptions added much to the story.

I found the ending to be very satisfying. While some of the character's stories have a black and white ending, not all do. Life IS full of ambiguities and I think a book that has you thinking about what a character will do after the novel ends is a good thing!

This is the story of how one lapse in judgment can change your whole life. When Gwen Raine indulges in a quick marijuana smoke, she almost loses everything dear to her. It seems as if every choice she makes is the wrong one even though she means well.

The story was somewhat predictable, but the author holds your attention, and you keep turning pages.
