A book that steals you from your regular day-to-day work and brings you straight to the African Jungle!

Impossible to put down. This is not the typical type of book I enjoy reading but did so on the recommendation from my mother-in-law. It has drawn me in as if I am a member of the Price family and at times, it's easy to get caught up in their day to day lives as if you are living it too. It's difficult to fathom a man taking his family half way across the world to live in such a different world. I can't say I empathize with Nathan but I certainly can with Orleanna, Rachel, Leah, Adah and Ruth May.

I read the Poisonwood Bible in preparation in writing a book report, and I wished I had read it a lot sooner. This book I can totally appreciate and empatize with each and every one of the characters; even Nathan Price. This book goes within the core of the African Congo, it's Politics, Religious and ethnic diversities. I recommend this book for anyone who is tired of staying on the outside looking in and want to experience the Congo first hand---but beware.

This book is absolutely wonderful. It is rich in themes, universal truths, metaphors, and a plethora of other literary devices. I would highly recomended this book to anyone who loves to read about history and enjoys a book that goes into the depths of human perspectives.

I thought that this was one of the best books that I have ever read. It was
assigned as "summer reading" piece to be discussed in my senior english class
come August. I do not generally like to read during the summer, in part
because I have a job, but mostly becasue I'm lazy and I don't feel that we should
have work to do during the summer. With this being said, however, I absolutely
loved this book. I was unable to put it down. I think that the reason that I actually
read it was because it was so moving. The story was very gripping, and the fact that it
was told from the point of view of all of the girls made it all the more interesting.
I would reccommend this book to everyone who would be willing to take the time
to read it.

Although I am only in tenth grade I felt this was a good book to read, but definitely not one to disect. It lacks stong themes and was not too deep. The story was just there, nothing really to discuss, I believe that this book was over rated generally, although Kingsolver is a wonderful writer it does not compare to Nathaniel Hawthorne lieterature. But overall a good book to read in your spare time. Not to assign to teenagers.Jackie
