The Academy of American Poets has announced this year's winners:
Gary Snyder won the Wallace Stevens Award ($100,000) awarded for "outstanding and proven mastery in the art of poetry."
Brenda Hillman received the Academy of American poets fellowship ($25,000) which honors "distinguished poetic achievement."
David Wojahn's World Tree won the Lenore Marshall Poetry Prize ($25,000) for "the most outstanding book of poetry published in the United States in the previous year."
Catherine Barnett's The Game of Boxes won the James Laughlin Award ($5,000).
The recipients will be honored on Oct 19 October 19 at the New School in New York City.
