The Orange Prize longlist has been announced. The 20-title list includes The Sealed Letter by Emma Donoghue,
Half Blood Blues by Esi Edugyan, The Forgotten Waltz by Anne Enright (Jonathan Cape), Gillespie and I by Jane Harris, The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern, The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller and State of Wonder by Ann Patchett.
The Orange Prize for Fiction is worth 30,000 UK pounds (about US$50,000). It was set up in 1996 to celebrate and promote international fiction by women throughout the world to the widest range of readers possible.
