During the second quarter of 2011, Amazon spent $450,000 lobbying the federal government on issues that included online sales tax rules, transportation safety, data protection and privacy, and patent reform rules. Amazon spent $500,000 for the same period last year and $630,000 in the first quarter of 2011.
