Detroit Public Library may close 18 out of 23 branches

Funded by property taxes that are projected to decline by 20-30% annually over the next four years, Detroit Public Library may close up to 18 of its 23 branches, and lay off as many as 57% of its remaining 333 employees (having cut 80 staff just two months ago).
