Australia's largest bookselling chain in administration

REDgroup, the holding company that owns Australia's largest bookstore chain, Angus & Robertson, has collapsed unexpectedly. REDgroup, also owns the Borders stores in Australia (which are no longer connected with US Borders) and the Whitcoulls chain of stores in New Zealand.

Analysts blamed the development on internet competition, and a return to thrift...The bricks and mortar retailers have also been hit by the demand for cheap imports from websites such as The Book Depository and Amazon.
