Do you think there should be a sequel, or perhaps a prequel?

A few people have posted comments suggesting that there should be a sequel, or maybe even a prequel. Would you like to read more about Hannah and other characters in this book; or perhaps about other people living in this society?

I would like there to be a prequel. Would really like to learn more about Hannah and how she came to be in this predicament.

I would love to see a sequel, because I feel the weakest part of the book was the ending.

I would like there to be a prequel to see how Hannah's home life and raising may have contributed to her predicament as well.

Prequel yes, sequel no.

I would like to see a prequel to find out what happened to LA and how this impacted the election of the Trinity party - if it did.
I would like to see a sequel to find out how Kayla made her escape. I felt this was a really weak story line - she was in dire danger and then she gets to Canada before Hannah apparently unscathed and with a hale and hearty Paul__ Huhhh How did that happen???

I would love to see a sequel to see the differences between the Canadian culture and American culture as Hannah makes her new life in Canada. As well, I think it would be interesting to see how Hannah's proceeds after she has begun to rebuild her sense of who she is and how she operates in the Will. This would be particularly interesting to see how she functioned in a relationship and whether she took up any activist action.

Neither one. I think that the prequel would be the world that we live in today. If there are no changes I think that we'll find ourselves in a society similar to what we see in the book. No sequel because I think what happens to Hannah next (in people's minds) will vary based on the beliefs of the reader.

I would be interested in seeing, not a prequel or a sequel, but a companion book---perhaps Kayla's story: set in the same world but with different characters.

Good idea judyt. Instead of more of Hannah's story, it would be great to learn more about Kayla. Their stories would intersect at some point and we would learn more about Hannah but the book would concentrate on Kayla's story

Neither. The book stands alone and leaves the before and after to the reader's imagination.

I agree more with a prequel as some of the reasons for the life of Hannah were unclear. This would clarify the dystopian story in the book. I kind of liked the open ending of what Hannah would o.

I would like to read both a prequel and a sequel because this book gave me a great to think about. I would like to read more of the story.

Yes, I would like to read a sequel. What happened to Hannah upon her escape to Canada? Did the United States ever throw off the bonds of those who had taken her over and imposed such a stifling society? So many questions left unanswered. Certainly enough to create a second full-length novel to answer at least some of those questions.

I think the book stands well alone. I am curious about the "time" in which the story takes place. Maybe a companion novel with a different character in that same setting would be interesting.

RE: Do you think there should be a sequel, or perhaps a prequel?

No I think this book is a stand alone novel. I think the best portion of the book was prior to the escape at least up to the point where Kayla and Hannah are separated. I thought the story lost steam toward the end and as has already been noted ended rather abruptly. Even with that I do not see a need for either a prequel or sequel.

A companion novel with Kayla as main character is GREAT idea. Her story is interesting and would stand alone. It would be intersting to see if "The Fist" would fit in to her story. Perhaps the link would be Cole and Kayla.

Would love a sequel. I want more of the story. What happens to her in Canada? Does Simone come to find her? Will she have contact with her family?

A sequel would be interesting, but only if the author really felt like she had something to say and wasn't writing just to make money. I realize authors need to make money, but I'd rather see her write something else if she doesn't feel strongly about a sequel.
