Did you enjoy the resonance of other works in LaPlante's book? What authors were you reminded of?

I thought of the book Still Alice as both relate to Alzheimers. But, in other respects, they are quite different.

It reminded me of S.J. Watson's 'Before I Go to Sleep.' If you loved NTL I very highly recommend you try Watson's book. It's about a woman with a brain injury whose mind is wiped everytime she goes to sleep, so she wakes up unsure where she is. The ending was a little shaky but the book was enjoyable.

What does everyone think about books based on a character's insanity. Are there parallels here?
