Would you say that Frankie is similar to her mother in any ways? By the end of the novel has their relationship strengthened? Is it easy for daughters to recognize the ways in which they are similar to their mothers?

I am always amazed at women who are horrified to be "turning into their mothers". When someone says this to me, I find the observation to be quite complimentary! My mother was a wonderful, kind, loving, sweet person--I strive to emulate her.
