Children's Chapter Book--read circa early 80's.

The kids of a family (2 boys, 2 girls??) get transported from the present (countryside house in England) to the medieval times. They are in a castle...

How horrible is it that all I remember is that there is time travel and kids climbing castle ramparts???

Help!

Could you be looking for The Enchanted Castle by E Nesbit?

I suppose I could be, but something about it doesn't feel right. I'll have to read that and see if the imagery comes through. I don't remember anything about other "magical" or supernatural things--just the time travel and figuring out how to deal with medieval times.

But I'm looking forward to reading Nesbit now.

Looking at Nesbit's other books I saw The House of Arden--and that sounds more like it could be the one. If it is, I'd be gobsmacked--been thinking about this darn book for 2 decades now.

Yay! If it turns out to be a match, let us know! If not, the search is still on!

try looking at Edward Eager's books- he wrote books about kids, castles and magic- and some time travel also.
