In what ways do you feel Katherine Parr was a survivor? Do you see her that way?

Yes and no. She certainly knows how to survive at a court filled with daily intrigues and dangers. Perhaps her best survival technique is silence. She also carefully chooses the companions whom she can trust and knows when to pull back and learns to choose her battles. She also works for Henry in trying to bring together his children.
However, she sadly fails romantically, acting more like a love-starved teenager than a politically savvy survivor. Had not Henry died when he did, she could well have "lost her head."

Katherine knew how to play the game, but when Henry realized she was in love with Seymour she was in great jeopardy. I think with someone as volatile as he was, it was only a matter of time before someone else caught his eye. I think there's little doubt that had Henry lived, Katherine would've been disposed of in some manner.

I saw Katherine as a survivor. Her second marriage certainly solved what to do to survive when widowed. Then she accepted the king as a husband and withdrew from court rather than fighting for position after his death. She was very careful about who she trusted also.

Katherine was a well-educated young woman of 31, when she was summoned to court. Her attractiveness blossomed with age and she was above the silly court ladies. She was well aware of the dangers of the court and the up-manship that was used to advance. Even her brother used his position to advance and to step on toes. She played her games with the king to win. Thank goodness, the king died before Katherine could be found guilty and destroyed. She knew when to speak and when to be silent, but most of the time her "voice was slick with oil". She was one smart woman. In this way, she was a survivor.
