Do you think almost dying makes a person more aware and grateful for the little things?

When Christine gets off the train from Dachau, she doesn’t realize where she is. Do you think almost dying makes a person more aware and grateful for the little things?

I believe that's true. At least it should cause a person to realize his/her priorities.

Definitely. It would make you look at your life from the standpoint of how your life really does touch others and what a gap you would have left had you died. It's easy to forget this, to take it for granted when things are going well, even to get frustrated and unappreciative. I've never had one, but a brush with death would surely turn all that around.

Almost dying can make a person more aware and grateful if a person is introspective and aware. Some, I think, would be grateful for the moment then eventually go about life as usual.

Yes. You often hear from folks with near death experiences how much they value the small things in life after that experience.
