Beneath the Shadows
I very readable book, primarily because the characters were interesting, the plot believable, and the setting wonderful...I mean Yorkshire's moors, it couldn't have been better. This book would certainly appeal to the reader, young or old, who enjoys a good mystery.

Shadows no more
Sara Foster caught my attention from the very beginning. "Beneath the Shadows" has all the neccessary ingredients - windswept moors, a mysterious disappearance, a damsel in distress, an eccentric, rather snobbish family, a somewhat mysterious stranger. A gothic tale that's not set in the past but set in the present. A book I really enjoyed reading.

An Intriguing Journey
Who doesn't enjoy a good mystery? That is just what Sara Foster presents to readers in "Beneath the Shadows". Into the story is embedded sinister shadows and quirky happenings starting with the very first page. Who left Grace's baby outside her door? Where did her husband go? Are the neighbors really what they claim to be? Are they part of a sinister plot? You will just have to read the book to answer these questions, but I assure you it will be an intriguing journey.

Beneath the Shadows
From the beginning to the end, Beneath the Shadows is loaded with atmosphere and suspense and lots of fascinating occurrences..a baby carriage left on a porch, a missing husband and unusual neighbors. The brutal winter in the Yorkshire Moors added to the suspense and mystery. It was fun to try and figure out what was going to happen as I was reading along. I would definitely recommend the book. Beneath the Shadows would make a wonderful movie.

Beneath the Shadows: A Mystery Set in the Moors
I enjoyed this book because I like a good scare and the author, Sara Foster, was able to do this by creating an eerie setting that was described as cold, remote, and spooky with a plot and set of characters that were wrapped in a mystery. The book kept my attention, throughout, but the ending was a little too neatly sewn up. It was a pleasure read, but not one that would lead to a hearty book discussion. Foster is a great descriptive writer, though, and I would like to read other books by her; maybe something in the horror genre.

What Happened?
This mystery is set in the northern wilds of England. Grace's husband disappeared a year prior while out walking their infant. The baby was returned unharmed in her carriage, but her father never came back. While Grace is trying to find some answers, she discovers she may not have known her husband as well as she thought she did. In a nice touch, while staying in this scary, old house she reads Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier.

Mystery on the Moors
I very much enjoyed the plot of this debut novel. Was not as predictable as many mysteries. The characters and setting were intriguing. The author transported me to this small town in England and did make me feel one with the main character. Would very much recommend the book to others. Looking forward to Sara Foster's next novel.
