This is the story of how one lapse in judgment can change your whole life. When Gwen Raine indulges in a quick marijuana smoke, she almost loses everything dear to her. It seems as if every choice she makes is the wrong one even though she means well.
The story was somewhat predictable, but the author holds your attention, and you keep turning pages.

Paranoid
Stash, by David Klein, stepped into the life of an every day suburban mom who one day decided to get a little weed from an old friend...harmless enough...so she thought. This book is an example of how one careless decision can have ripple effects that reach far beyond the intended scope. In Gwen's case, it seems one bad decision leads to another digging her deeper and deeper into an a mess of personal and legal battles. This is a well written, fast paced book that keeps you turning the pages. It reminds us that you never know what dirty little secrets are kept behind doors - no matter how nicely decorated. Gwen got a little more than a little case of paranoia with her actions...she got a dose of reality as well. The question remaining is, will she learn her lesson?

Good but not great
The premise of this one grabbed me from the start. Because it is all about the decisions people make. The initial thought is that this is a moral tale. I liked each character having a story of their own. The only reason I didn't give it 5 is because I found it predictable

Stash
I enjoyed reading the book very much. The story had a fast pace, that kept the reader interested. The characters were well developed and engaging. I felt the writing was reminiscent of Andre Dubus III (author of The House of Sand and Fog). I was a little disappointed in the ending, as I was anticipating a twist in the plot. Overall I enjoyed the book and would definitely recommend the book to others.

Started off great but lost a little steam
I loved this book right up until the end, when the author seemed intent on wrapping it all up with a bow. The premise of the book is age old-a split second decision, how that decision can go so awry so quickly, the fear of being judged, the justifications we all try to comfort ourselves with-great stuff. Although the characters were not fully developed I still found them interesting and for awhile there I was hooked. Then the book just kind of ran out of steam and I felt a little let down. I would characterize it as a good beach read for the summer!

Stash by David Klein
I liked this book a lot, I really enjoyed reading it. The characters were believable and relatable. Even though Gwen made a bad choice to smoke pot and drive her car, resulting in the death of an elderly man, you feel that she was really a good person. She just wanted to do the best she could for her children and husband, as a result she felt unimportant and invisible. We have become a pharmaceutical society that can justify medicating ourselves for the smallest of reasons. The author ties in her misuse of a substance with the corporate coverup of the dangerous side effects of a prescription drug. People are always willing to overlook the danger in order to benefit from the results.

The Good Old Days
Stash is like going on a trip from the past. The different perspectives written by the author makes the book quite interesting. We flower children from the 70's can definitely relate to the material in this book. I would recommend it to anyone, but we would especially enjoy it.
